Family Adventure
Holiday To
Remember

family adventure holiday annapurna

For those looking for a family adventure holiday, something different, something you will remember, look no further.

And before we do go much further, this Annapurna Sunrise Trek is as flexible as you need it to be, totally adjustable, even once you get going. As are most of our other family adventure holidays. It is tried and tested on our guinea pig children!

The good news is that there are no extortionate increase in airfares just because it’s a school holiday! Most half term holidays and Easter 2019 all fall very nicely for the Nepalese season and what an experience it will be!

Your target date for departure is 6 Apr 2019 onwards.

This all encompassing family adventure takes place well inside 2 weeks, including travel time and includes:

  • Kathmandu – time in the bustling capital city
  • Drive through rural Nepal – a 6hr drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara; has to be done once!
  • Trekking – a fantastic 5/6 day trek in the Annapurna Region, summiting Poon Hill (3200m)
  • Pokhara – 2 nights in Pokhara. A wonderfully chilled out town that sits right on the Phewa lake. It has loads of other adventure activities on offer too.
  • Domestic flight back to Kathmandu – having drive it, it’s time to fly back to Kathmandu in just 30 mins to oversea the countryside from the air.

This trip in more detail – Annapurna Sunrise Trek. We can adapt for YOU.

Is This Right For My Child? – Good question. We suggest an averagely fit child of 9 – 10 years and upwards would be capable of completing this trek unaided. The days are short enough to allow time to rest more if required and there are plenty of places to do that.

What Happens If My Child Gets Tired? This is a hilly region so everyone will get tired but the itinerary is geared to have sufficient rest factored in. The flexibility is such that you can stop and stay the night in just about any village so if you don’t make the planned night stop, it doesn’t matter. You simply go with the flow! If required, we can employ porters to carry lightweight children (under 30kg) or use mules to do the same job.

Kids absolutely love this area, mountains everywhere you look, lots of forest about (monkeys live here) and we use the smaller hamlets to stay so it’s rural to say the least.

It’s a real education too. Just seeing how these people live including the land they work, the animals they take care of for milk and the sheer basic conditions is an eye opener for anyone let alone children.

Warning to anyone (especially the younger ones) with electronic device addiction – you will be WITHOUT wifi or a phone signal at all for a few days.

Make use of our specialist advice – we know this area well! – From Pokhara, you can fly out to Jomson (20 min flight) and explore that area for 2 nights or you can even, change your trek route and trek there! Either way, the scenery there is spectacular (the header image is from that area) and the tiny airstrip is something to treasure!

Who will this suit? A family, or joint families with children (aged 10 upwards) who like a bit of adventure and the outdoors. Children younger than the ages mentioned above can still go, but they may require some assistance (planned) to carry them from time to time.
