Small Group Adventure Holidays are for travellers
who want the freedom and flexibility that it invariably provides.

With your own guide, and associated transport and support crew (where appropriate), most of our small group adventure holidays will depart with as few as 2 people. They are effectively private adventure holidays, and are guaranteed to go with even that small number depending on the adventure. Adventure travel can be anything you want it to be.

Small group adventure holidays lend themselves nicely to a variety of groups. Whether it be a group of friends, small charities, or a family who wish to keep the adventure within their own circle for any number of reasons, it works. The family Sahara is a good example.

Adventure holidays in small groups open up a huge amount of flexibility, both in the planning stage and during the adventure itself. Plan to reach Everest Base Camp, or Kilimanjaro on a specific date, or extend out to fit in safaris in Tanzania, or nip over to the Indian Ocean’s glorious white beaches of Zanzibar.

SMALL GROUP ADVENTURE HOLIDAYS

These are effectively private, individually crafted itineraries
to suit you at standard prices.

Advantages of Small Group Adventures

  • Set your own adventure departure date – this provides the greatest flexibility to suit your own availability. It also allows freedom to choose potentially cheaper flights. Please do bear in mind that most regions have ‘weather windows’ when it is both good and not so good to go.
  • Itinerary adjustments – we can adjust the itinerary to suit the group’s ability. This can be adding or reducing the number of days spent on the adventure. It can also be adding extensions.
  • Support level – We can adjust the level of support required, if needed, to suit those within the group. This comes into its own for families with younger travellers for example.
  • Younger travellers – a small private group allows younger people to go (under 18) as you don’t have to worry about others. This will depend on the adventure.
  • You set your own pace.
  • Transport flexibility – There tend to be fewer issues with transport with smaller groups. It’s easier to fit small numbers onto domestic aircraft where seats might be in demand (relevant in Nepal and India for example). It’s easier to move smaller vehicles such as 4×4’s, as opposed to minibuses, or even a coach.

Small group adventures do not have to be groups that are already known to each other. Solos can join our pre-existing departure dates. Whilst there is no guarantee of the number of people that will be in the group, we do tend to keep our groups on the smaller side generally.

Show Examples of Personalised Adventures

  • Tanzania – trek up Kili, or Meru, or the Highlands trek, or one of the fantastic cycle options, and then choose to factor in a safari or stay in a luxury lodge for a night or two. Then head over to the whites sands of Zanzibar.
  • Nepal (Everest side) – you don’t have to go to Base Camp! But if you do, you can add more time on to incorporate other side areas such as the Gokyo lakes. Alternatively, give us a time limit and we can suggest where to go to get the best out of the area. Just spending a day in a village watching life can be extremely satisfying.
  • Nepal (Annapurna) – The world is your oyster here! Time is your only restriction. The altitude is lower here (generally speaking) so there is a vast network to explore. Try the Circuit, and fly back from there (20 min mountain flight) or head up through the Sanctuary to the Annapurna Base Camp. Pokhara is a great place to spend a few nights post trek.
  • Nepal (touring) – you don’t need a multi-day trek in Nepal to enjoy this country, although the hills are special to say the least. Kathmandu, Pokhara and some other areas will certainly keep you occupied.
  • Morocco (touring) – whether you enjoy cities, mountains, desert, or rural, we can put something together to fit your requirements.
  • India – Another country with massive potential waiting to be unlocked. Travel in through Delhi and choose to either tour, or head for the hills to fit in a trek. Even the trains are an adventure in their own right!

Such freedom when you personalise your own small group adventure holiday.

everest base camp

Nepal – Everest or Annapurna

Nepal lends itself perfectly to small groups. There are so many small elements that can affect a trip in Nepal. You need flexibility and that’s easier with smaller numbers.

Sahara Desert

There can’t be many family experiences that teach kids more than some time in the Sahara. This is freedom. So many life lessons. They love it. And it’s incredibly educational on so many levels.

Gorge Mt Mgoun

Morocco’s Mountains, or Touring

Morocco’s terrain is hugely diverse. High mountains (with road passes), desert, gorges, valleys with palmeries, beach coastlines, it has it all. The difficulty is fitting them all in, but we can try!
